The Love Of Seven

July 7th, 2007

Each couple is unique in their own ways and we try to reflect this uniqueness in their events. One of our clients loved the number seven and the colour green. When one mentions the number seven, many of us would imagine seven individual items grouped together. Nothing more. The Wikipedia in their website, http://en.wikipedia.org, gives a generous and detailed explanation on the number seven. The number seven on the other hand, was aptly reflected during our client’s wedding day. They were in “seventh heaven” that day!

Thank You Card

We toyed with several ideas based on this number and finally came out with a theme suitable for their wedding events, both for Akad Nikah and Wedding Receptions. It was based on Edmund Spenser’s allegory, Faerie Queene. What has this allegorical work got to do with the number seven? Ah… that’s another story of its own. Anyway, the theme was a magical fairy land with number seven in prominence - we even had ladybirds on trees. Did you know that ladybirds have 7 spots? :)

Sugar Club, Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur

On the evening of 7 April 2007, as soon the last guests made their way home, we made our way to the city centre. The drive along the highway was smooth but the mood changed drastically upon nearing the city. Jalan Sultan Ismail was horrendously bad! We were inching all the way to Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur. However, we made it in time to set the place up for Lyn & Ken Imran’s Engagement Party with their close friends.

Sugar Club was chosen for their Engagement party simply because it sort of matches with our clients’ tastes and requirements. The place has a classy with rather stylish decor for upmarket clientele. It also has an elevated dancefloor and the DJ plays funky soul music. The other thing that is a plus for Sugar Club is that, there are cosy little nooks for small group parties. Our Very First Event…

Thought of sharing with you our very 1st event, an engagement for someone very dear to us held on 7 April 2007 in Klang, Malaysia. This was where it all began for RCE…

Sometime in early January 2007, Lyn informed me that she was getting engaged and that she would like RCE to do the event for her. We communicated through the internet mostly, as it is definitely much cheaper than making long distance calls to Australia. What we knew was that she loves beautiful things (don’t we all :) ) and the colours pink and green.

Realising that we had just about 3 months to materialise the whole event, we put on our thinking caps and shifted to fifth gear all the way. A complete proposal was submitted within two weeks to Lyn via email. She was thrilled with the whole idea of ‘East Meets West’ and having specially designed bunga manggar at her event. As a matter of fact, most of the items for the event were either custom made or designed specially for her. Read the rest of this entry »

Wedding Planner

Often I have been asked, why do we need wedding planners? Why must we spend more money when we can do it ourselves? Why do I need to waste my money? Why should we let other people meddle with our family event? Why is it necessary to do so? Why, why, why and why? I’ve heard so many whys so many concerns and so many explanations given by different people in the industry.

But to me, I think the answer to above is only one.. it is not because you have more money to spend, not because you cant do it yourself, not because you want to waste money, not because you need other people to make sure your family is under control and surely not because you want to show off to people that you have the capability to hire a planner. Nope none of the above… but the one and only reason why people need to hire a wedding planner is simply because of ..TIME..

In this modern age where everybody is having a busy daily schedule, to plan for a perfect wedding, to get everybody organize, to make sure that everything falls into place on the wedding day without missing out on anything at all by yourself and most importantly to ENJOY the big day without any worries at the back of your head is almost impossible.

Yes you would be able to do it.. No denying in that.. but you can’t run away with thinking of all the details and worrying if anything goes wrong when you are at the altar.. That, I personally know is not a nice feeling to have on your wedding day. Especially on that particular life changing moment that happens just once and just for that few seconds in your life..

Will it be worth it the few RM saved with having the thoughts of whether the wedding cake is ready or is there enough food for your guests, during your walk down to the altar? Wouldn’t it be nicer and more meaningful if you channel all your energy and feelings towards being a husband/wife during those few magical moments and think of all the wonderful things in life waiting for you in your future together? Gazing at each others eyes and loving every moment that’s passing by you at that particular moment… instead of thinking of the horrible things that might happen during the wedding?

For all these reasons and all the above is why you need a wedding planner. Simply because of the limited time you have and the feeling you would remember for the rest of your life during that few most important and life changing moments in your life…Moments you will cherish, moments you will savor and moments you want to remember..

Shouldn’t it be better if the TIME you have use it wisely and enjoy the whole wedding process so that there will only be good and wonderful memories instead of blank thoughts of it.. because the planning itself has consumed you?
